Default Renault UN1 Transaxle

It's starting to look like I need a Renault UN1 transaxle... was it in anything that came over here?

Thanks,

Andrew

I'm looking for a transaxle suitable for mounting to an engine in the trunk of a car.

The Renault ones look to be where price and utility intersect.

Hello,
The UN1 is a good choice for rear mounted engine, but don't forget to check the rotation side.

On R21/R25 the motor is in front of the gearbox, but in Alpine the motor is at the rear of the gearbox (in the trunk), and the differential is on the other side.
These kind of gearboxes are reversible, the problem could be with the tachometer.
And there is 2 kind of tachometer, it depends on vehicle and year: mechanical or electronical.

I'm not sure about the UN5 for commercial (Renault Master) but I don't think it's OK for a car (very short ratios).

And there is also the NG3, like UN1 but for 150 hp max

Olivier
